Choosing The Right Driver – A How To Guide.
As if the game of golf is not tough enough, the technological advancements have thrown golfers through another loop. After hitting several poor shots, many golfers instantly blame their golf clubs. They mention how old they are, or how they received them from their parent. Believe it or not, these excuses might actually hold some validity, as new technology can allow golfers to reach their full potential. This is especially true with the biggest club in the bag, the driver.
The driver is the lowest lofted club in that bag, and it is also the longest. This makes it extremely difficult for beginners to control and any error(s) they make in their swing are substantially magnified. People can make mistakes all day long with short irons, but they will probably only see a minimal decrease in accuracy and distance. However, the driver needs to have the proper amount of loft and the right flex of shaft to match the player’s skill level. Professional golfers typically use a 7.5 degree driver, as they have enough swing speed to get the ball in the air. A beginner should probably have at least 10.5 degrees of loft, as they need all the help they can get. Beginners should also use a regular flex shaft, as this will allow them to increase their speed and control. The hits keep comin’: Even If Your Clubs Are Off The Shelf–Get Fitted!
